Your suggestion with my novel?

I am writing a novel about a Chicago teenaged girl named Ginger Perske who reinvents herself as Ginger West and moves to Los Angeles as an aspiring actress; soon she falls into the depths of the gritty Hollywood scene (its much more heavy and in depth but thats a brief synopsis), but I do not know what year I should set this in: 1927, 1935, 1942, 1957 or 1964? Please give me your suggestions, thanks!
