Is "day had broken" personification?

I would call it figurative language, possibly a metaphor (comparing day to something that has broken out of its boundaries). Personification is when an inanimate object does something a human can do - humans don't "break" in the way that is intended in your example. If the writer were personifying day, he/she might say "Dawn painted beautiful colors across the sky."

What color are your boogie shoes, and do they have a heel on them?

Mine are black and yes, it's about a 3 inch heel. Do you want to boogie with me? You can request any song at all!

WHY WAS MY QUESTION ERASED!!!!?

Yeah I know. Yet the people who ask if they're pretty or have disgusting questions they don't get deleted. It's weird. Maybe terms of violation?

What is the difference between your section leader and squad leader?

I had my first drill last month with the Army Reserves since I got back from AIT and BCT and met my section leader and squad leader. I just wanted to know the difference. My section leader is an E5. Is section leader just another term for team leader?

Why do I feel like a social idiot sometimes?

I'm very outgoing and very funny, only around a few certain people. But, around others that I like very well...I'll stay stuff that is irrelevant or that's not even interesting. Why would I do this when I know what I'm doing (usually not right off hand, but shorty shortly afterwards)?

What would be the direction of cyclone if it is generated in north hemisphere and moves to south hemisphere?

a cyclone in the northern hemisphere would rotate counter cw, in the southern hemisphere would rotate cw, however due to the fact that to create a cyclone you need a coriolis force, which is not present at the equator a cyclone could not "move" to the southern hemisphere. Cyclone do not cross the equator.
