Reasearch paper on topic of your choice?

I have to write a research paper a summer cl and I get to pick the topic. I wanted to do Moi dix Mois or Dir en Grey, but my teacher was telling me that there arnt any boots in english that i could cite. I would love to do a research paper about something related to visual kei, but that is somewhat out of the question. What would be a good topic to write about? It can be basically be about anything.
