Does britain suffer from a a trend of school leavers, lacking ambition and qualications?

ie that 17-18 year have to taught basic literacy and numeracy, and see all that life is about is having a g f and maybe a part time job,but seem to accept �30 per week EMA and ask their g f for money when they run out, who lives jobseekers and housing benefit and lies in bed till midday regularly,with no sort of work or college continuing and make their friends do thier shopping and dont even do voluntary work and aspire to new mobiles and flashy tv's.....
