Forgetfulness?

I have a friend who is really forgetful. He is only 29. He will say something to me and an hour later when I tell him he said it, he doesn't remember. I know it can't be Alzheimer's because he's too young. Does anyone know any other medical reasons for someone being so forgetful at such a young age?
